dead baby pics

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

It’s a little late but here’s some of the thousands of pictures of the Dead Baby DH. I rode a 16″ scooter, AJ rode his OG Schwinn, Jesse on his 16″ ZooBomb girls bike, and Colton rode the TS Broncho. Some high points of the night included Robo Wright peg stalling the roof of a muffler shop [pretty nuts], Mike winning the bunnyhop contest, and Chris P. getting drunk of the week in The Stranger. Check out the pics…

Fireworks [thanks to Broncho]

Me after I cut my hand from a bottle I broke over my scooter

Chris spitting in my hand and then I slapped him in the face. [This is how he acquired drunk of the week]

That’s about all I could find online. These were “borrowed” from flickr. Everybody had a good time. If you were wondering why we have no shirts and underwear; we ripped them off along with the rest of our friend’s shirts and/or underwear. Rock over London, rock over chicago: Polaroid, see what develops. Later…

August 1st Cruiser ride Cancelled!!!! (Dead Baby Downhill)

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Next Friday we will be leaving the shop a little early to make it out to the DEAD BABY DOWNHILL!!!   Scary sounding but really just a bunch of smelly bike riders cruising down to a big party.  The festivities are pretty crazy and the people who enjoy them are quite entertaining as well.  I have went for the past few years and dont plan on missing this event.  There will be mayhem and is not suited for young people.  Take ANY bike and meet up at this location on Friday.  Sign ups are from 5PM to 6:45.  The race starts at 7Pm sharp (its a bike event come on).  Anyway Tall bike jousting, human powered carnival rides and all kinds of beer.  Check it out if you have the time!!!

New Frames In Stock

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

Clockwise from top left: Corsair Konig, Blkmkrt Riot, Transition TrailorPark, Transition Bottlerocket PBR

Come by the shop and check out the new frames we got in. The Corsair Konig is a very cool slope style frame with company roots in the NW. Corsair tells us that the link they use has single-piviot four bar characteristics even though it may look like a virtual Piviot. This link makes the bike laterally stiff and strong. The attention to detail on the Corsair Konig is cool as well.

The BlkMkrt has the same geometry as its expensive counterpart, the Mob, but with a more affordable price.

Transition has changed up their TrailorPark for the new year. They use an integrated headset, Spanish BB, and integrated seatclamp. The geometry remains the same as the previous models.

The grand finale is the Transition Bottle Rocket PBR Limited Edition. It’s the same frame that you like but with a sick paint job. Transition redesigned the piviots so the hardware mounts more flush than before. These were made in limited runs so get it while we still got it.

Call or stop by for pricing on all frames. Buy a new frame and get some kickouts at the trails.

Cruisin and Floatin

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Since we finally have some good weather in old Washington state we are going to start up our Friday night cruiser rides.  June 27th will be the first of many Renton cruises.  Bring out any kind of bike and check Rentons sites.  We meet at the shop at 6:30-7:00 and then we usually get out about 7:30.  From there anything can happen.  Usually it is down to the lake and back with some bar hopin involved.  Bring yourself and a bike.  We will see you then.

Also since the weather is on our side this weekend a few of us will be floating the Cedar.  I am thinking around 1pm will be a good time to meet at the shop.  We will depart from there and float for a while down the rapids of the cedar.

Wham Bam describes Robbie Wright Right

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Robbie WrightRobbie stopped by the shop to get a new wheel laced up for his 20″ the other day. He brought his daughter who is almost 2 and she rambled around the shop as we B.S.’ed. I showed him the new BMX Plus, that has an FSA Ad. It is Robbie throwing a 180 over a gap on a third story building and his daughter and girlfriend watching from the street below. It was pretty cool. Then he showed me the Wham Bam results.

Gas prices and commuting

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Go Here!Who can resist the fact to ride a bike instead of driving.  Atleast for some short distances or if your outfitted correctly you can commute farther than you think.  If you do choose to ride, walk, bus, or even sharing rides there is an opportunity to win prizes.  We have partnered with Metro along with some other local businesses in order to help inform you and motivate you into using the resources available.  We have packets at the store or you can check it out online here.

I might be shooting myself in the foot

I cant help but pass on good deals to the riding community.  This is for anyone looking for Ironhorses or K2’s.  This is probably less than I would pay for an Ironhorse if I were a dealer.  Believe it or not mark up on bikes is pretty slim…about 30%.  I am here as a dealer to give you a good price and great service.  Come in and I will try to match the Internet and sometimes I will let you know to just buy it online.  Such is the case righ now.  For One day only check this out

Pedro “Pulito” Marrero Stops by the shop

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

So Phil Sundbaum was back from the qashqai in Europe and brought back a new friend. Pedro came in all quiet and just seemed like another rider. His bike was banged up with only one of the two bolts holding his Gold Labels together. So we dove into his bike and ending up extracting a bolt and retainer with some precision machining. He looked on with terror as we drilled into his fork. I think it was because he was so far from Purto Rico with a giant (phil) and me doing surgery on his fork. After all this he shows me his video and I was so stoked. This kid rips.
