Learing to ride is easy on an Electra Townie

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

I believe the children are our future.  Teach them well and let them lead the way.

09 20" Townie BikesThese are the new 09 Electra Townie line for the little ones…20″.  These are sick in person and look a ton like the old schwinn stingrays.  I even asked if they copied them and they gladly said yes they were styled after the schwinns from another era.

Went to the Mountains

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Went to some trails that I have not been to in about 5 years.  They were vaguely familiar, which was suprising.  It still had a bit of suprises for me with roots and moving rocks.  I got to ride with some new guys from the Moto world Greg Crater and Kyle Coen.  Crater races Supercross and Motocross and Coen can jump a 50cc further than you.  There buddy Craig was with them and had one sick Van that could roll over anything in its path.  It was cool to see so many of the same faces up there ripping it up.  I think there was about 30 fools shuttling along with some DHZ guys.  I also saw this bug that could sting you deeeeep.

dnr meeting followup

Friday, September 12th, 2008

I can’t stress this enough.  If you want to see more legal trail access in Washington then you need to attend these meetings. There are still a few left so for anyone near Deer Park, Hoquiam, Vancouver, Port Angeles, Burlington, or Ellensburg so get off your backside and get your voice heard.

Everyone should also take two minutes and fill out this very short survey.

Be sure to check out this wiki page for the best information I’ve seen about this process.  It contains information from the DNR‘s Issaquah meeting provided by Matt Patterson (Dirt Corps) and Jon Kennedy from the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance (formerly BBTC).

Special thanks to Armando Malo for the pics

Forget whatever you are doing and come celebrate one of the greatest things to happen to the Seattle area bike scene.

Thanks to years of hard work, over 12,000 volunteer hours, and the welcoming spirit of the neighbors, Colonnade is almost done. And now it’s time to party! Please join the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance (formerly BBTC) for the Grand Opening of I-5 Colonnade, Saturday, September 13th from 10am to 2pm.

It looks like there is a ton of good raffle prizes, food, and good times for all.  For full details and directions follow the link: (more…)

Go 29er Yourself

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Down at the shop we have been rawking 29ers for quite some time.  Just about everyone is rolling on some big boys wheels.  The larger wheel diameter is great for cross country riding and we have sold quite a few to customers looking for the “one” bike.  Wider wheels/tires are great for the realities of urban riding and you’ll never fear a pot hole or curb again.

We have a few different flavors of 29ers in stock.  Depending on what your needs are we can get you into a very affordable single speed setup or all the way up to a blinged out suspended trail master like AJ rolls.  Check out the Redline D series, MonocogRaleigh XXIX, or Mojave 29 and then come in to ride one out the door.  We even have a Surly Instigator built up as at 96/69er (29 front w/ 26 rear) for the real rebels out there.

We’ve done some custom fender work for those who like to stay dry come winter and AJ has built his 29er up to shop owner standards.
